I just couldn't form an opinion on it and i found that really frustrating... i OFTEN have an opinion.... on most things...!
I now have an opinion on Sophie Dahl: I was ready to hate her - i promise i was. There was no room in my life for yet another staged celeb cook..... but i gave her a chance. I blanked my mind completely and i watched The Delicious Miss Dahl with a free and easy mind.
I loved it.
I loved the settings and the recipes. I loved her face and her talking. And most importantly of all, over everything - I wanted to eat the food she was making.
I cannot say fairer than that.
So, if you watched the show - and had one of those terrifying moments where you couldn't find your own opinion, please feel free to borrow mine...

I was exactly the same..... I was already to "pooh! pooh!" it/her. BUT IT WAS EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD. If you don't like cooking you can look a the styling ...... if you like cooking, the recipes were simple and easy and yummy. She, herself, was an absolute delight.
oh heck!!!! I missed it!?! What channel was it on? I'm not sure I am ready to hear this....I NEED to see her! great post!
I missed it (as I do most things)and wondered whether to bother with iplayer and now I know I should.

So glad i am not alone here. I read a few reviews *knowing* what they would say: Blah, Bleuh, not nigella, we hate Dahl... all so untrue, it was a great watch x

Mrs B: She made fudge in the most unusual way I have ever seen it made.......... She made a cocktail, she made sweet potato chips.............. she..... well, she was damned good..... I have been glued to Raymond Blanc for the last few weeks, but can feel my allegiance shifting.

I have LITERALLY just finished watching this (I plus'd it). I was sooo ready to hate her too - but really didn't. In fact I rather enjoyed it! It was very "styled" but you know - I like that too!
...and I sooo want to make that fudge!! Roll on next week

Yep, liked it. Thought it was over-styled, but oh boy did I want to have my own "selfish day". Now, anyone fancy 3 boys for a day so I can hang out on my own in that gorgeous Marylebone cheese shop??? Anyone.....?

I loved it, real escapism to a beautiful world of silliness frivolity and food. Have seen lots of moaning minnies wingeing about it on Twitter and the like, so it's lovely to find someone else who enjoyed it!
it was so easy and ready to be slated - i imagine a few hundred foodie writers had written their review before they even saw it... and i wonder how many people will watch it 'secretly love it' but slate it anyway? tcha - just like it openly - it was lush x
I caught it on the very helpful, iplayer. Wanted that fudge so bad when she said it reminded her of sea salty hands and ice cream. Salty and sweet. Y.u.m.m.y!!!
My American friend sends me such delights as chocolate and peanut butter covered pretzels, imagine how good those are?

I also loved it, knew I would and don't care if it was a 'rented and styled to within an inch of it's life faux home'. I watch telly to be inspired and ESCAPE!She is delightful and we all had a lovely cuddly time watching it. Great stuff.
I loved the programme. And I want the DMD to be my new Best Friend.
